I'm not a fan of a "calling" because it feels like I have no choice, something or someone is calling me to be a greater, better me whether I want to or not. I have made contributions as I "stepped up" though I also harbor resentment; I wanted to remain naive, free of difficulties not of my choosing.
Like a child tantrum, "I don't wanna" could easily be inserted and only after fifty years have been able to at least see it for what it is. Thank you for reminding me that forward can produce more good than dug in heels.
